A bookshop the size of childhood

I'm Abeer, a mom of two who's loved watching my own kids fall in love with books so much that I want that for every child. For nearly 15 years I worked with Save the Children and USAID, reaching over 300,000 refugee families through education, health, and protection programs. In Canada, I supported families through infant mental health and early childhood programs. Helping children and families thrive has always been my mission — Riwaya is just the most personal chapter yet.

Books are my lifelong passion! I've spent nearly two decades putting books in the hands of children, my kids included. From building early literacy programs to starting an Arabic publishing house to writing and editing children's books for Sesame Street, I've been involved in all aspects of book creation. I was also a Mass Media Education Consultant on Ahlan Simsim for nearly five years, reaching over 3 million children with direct services and over 27 million children via television. But Riwaya, now that's the dream!
